Kathmandu. National Independent Party MP Sobita Gautam has demanded the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak. Speaking to media persons outside the Parliament building on Tuesday, she demanded the resignation of Home Minister Lekhak.

She said that the administration did not complete the necessary work during the protest on Chaitra 15 and that the youth died due to the government’s negligence. She said that the Home Minister has failed to take charge of the security mechanism and should pave the way. She said that the government said one thing about Sabin Maharjan, who was killed by police bullets, and the reality of the video is different.

She said that the police administration should have been present to control the arson, but that did not happen.

She said, “Fires have broken out in places where they should not have been, the administration has not been present where they should have been, the government has failed there. There is the matter of bullets. There is the matter of Sabin Maharjan. We did not know about you until the video came. They said that there was a clash between the two sides and bullets were fired. Now the reality is different in the video footage. This makes it clear that the reality is one thing and what is being said is another. It is clear that he has not been able to take charge of the security mechanism. He could have paved the way, resigned. He could have given responsibility to someone else who can. It seems like it’s time for the government to reshuffle its ministers and change its leadership.’

MP Gautam said it’s time for the coalition government to change its ministers and leadership.
