Kathmandu. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has directed Police Chief Inspector General of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar to investigate and bring to justice whoever is responsible for the recent incidents of assault and mistreatment of police personnel.
This morning, summoning Police Chief Kunwar and other high-ranking police officers to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Minister Lekhak said that serious attention has been drawn to the incidents of assault on police personnel while maintaining peace and security and directed the police to investigate and bring to justice the culprits immediately.
Minister Lekhak stressed that the police should be more proactive in maintaining peace and security, taking cognizance of the incidents of assault and mistreatment of security personnel being made public in some parts of the country in the past few days. .
‘I have instructed to take legal action against anyone involved in the incident,’ said Minister Lekhak. ‘I have already asked to bring anyone who disrupts peace and security in society or attacks employees who are deployed to guard society to justice.’
