Bagmati. The Hetauda Cement Industry, which has been closed for a long time, is set to resume production from the third week of Chaitra. Preparations are underway to start production after the maintenance of the industry’s machines is complete, the raw materials needed for the industry are assured and the employees agree to work, said Hetauda Cement Industry Acting General Manager Engineer Navin Kumar Karna.

‘Since the industry’s machines are old and damaged, it took some time to repair them,’ said Acting General Manager Karna. ‘It is a machine installed during the establishment period, it seems that it should be replaced and a new machine installed, but since it was not immediately possible due to financial problems, we have had it repaired.’

He says that cement can be produced immediately from this. According to him, there is some stock of raw materials required for the operation of the industry and some have been assured to come. ‘Right now, we have about 100 tons of coal,’ said Acting General Manager Karna, ‘The rest of the coal is coming from tomorrow, so there is no problem with raw materials.’ He said that since the old payment for coal could not be made, he was ready to talk to the company and send coal to operate the industry.

He said that the electricity problem for the operation of the industry would also be resolved. Regular electricity is needed to run the industry, for which talks have been held with the Nepal Electricity Authority. He said, ‘The authority has committed to providing regular electricity, now that problem will not exist.’

The industry management had stopped cement production since October 15th as it had to repair various equipment in the industry. The employees have not been able to receive their salaries and allowances for the past three months due to the closure of the industry. The industry, established in Lamsure, Hetauda in 2033 BS, had started producing cement since 2043 BS. However, the industry was closed due to financial problems and other reasons.

The Hetauda Cement Industry, which has been struggling with one problem after another, resumed cement production from the third week of Bhadra in 2081 BS, but the industry was closed from Asoj 15 after the machine had to be repaired. The industry, which has a daily production capacity of 16,000 bags of cement, has been struggling due to financial problems and other reasons.
