Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Bishwanath Poudel has said that the employees of the bank will not be sidelined. Addressing the employees after assuming office, Governor Poudel said that all the capable employees would be utilized.
Stating that the government has given him a big responsibility, he said that the Rastra Bank would move ahead unitedly. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Chief Justice prakash man Singh Raut at the Finance Ministry in Singha Durbar.
He reached the Rastra Bank after receiving congratulations and good wishes from the Finance Minister. He reached the office after being welcomed by the employees of the Rastra Bank and took charge. Taking office, he said he would focus on supervision rather than regulation. He has said that he will not move ahead in such a way that everyone should implement the law tomorrow.
After assuming office, the employees welcomed him to the meeting hall. On the occasion, two deputy governors and leaders of the employees’ trade union welcomed the newly appointed governor.
Speaking at the end of the program, Governor Poudel made it clear that the employees of the bank will not be able to cheat anyone and no one will be sidelined. At the reception, Deputy Governor Nilam Dhungana said she was ready to collaborate with Governor Poudel. Similarly, another deputy governor Bam Bahadur Mishra said he was looking forward to working with the new governor.
The employees’ unions have warned newly appointed Governor Poudel that it will be difficult to work if any employee is sidelined and someone is sidelined. In particular, the employees’ unions close to the CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) have urged the employees to look at them equally.
He said that if there is no discrimination among the employees, there are good employees in the Rastra Bank and it will help them to work. However, the unions close to the Nepali Congress had said that they were ready to make the governor and the Rastra Bank a success.
