Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has got its 18th governor on Tuesday. Economist Dr. Bishwanath Poudel has already taken over as governor on Wednesday.
Poudel, who came to Nepal with the aim of becoming a ‘Master’ (teacher) after completing his PhD from the University of California, USA, has been successful in becoming governor.
Governor Poudel says that many people and relatives were surprised when they returned to Nepal from america in the beginning. He says, “When I returned to Nepal from america, many people used to tell me why I would have returned, even now many brothers and sisters ask me what to do, I say, if you are happy, stay in Nepal if you are happy in Nepal. ”
Governor Poudel said that people should stay where the economy is happy and happy.
Governor Poudel says that many issues of the economy will be determined by the market. He says that the economy will now determine the stay of people. Taking charge on Wednesday, Governor Poudel said, “We do not want to control the market by enacting many laws, but we take all kinds of measures to protect people’s money.” ”
He plans to reduce regulation and more supervision. He said that if the monetary policy has obstructed the implementation of the government’s finance policy, it will be revised. He clarified that the first task is to make the issues set by the monetary policy successful and the second task is to increase supervision.
He said that a lot of public money is kept in different banks of Nepal and supervision will be a priority for their safety. “Everyone knows that the role of Rastra Bank is important. We focus on two things. One is the monetary policy to make it a success and the other is supervision. Many rules do not work, so it is necessary to increase supervision. Everyone knows the major work of the bank to increase the capacity of the bank. People’s money is kept in different banks, they will be protected. The landing policy is good. Monitor landing policies to ensure that policies are used properly. Continuous evaluation is a priority. Similarly, the main objective is to complete the tasks set by the monetary policy. ”
Governor Poudel said that he would not say that everyone should implement the law by bringing it tomorrow. Governor Poudel added, “We focus on a lot of supervision. I have said that policy making should always be without possibility. There are many stakeholders in our country. In the beginning, I am not in favor of bringing a solution myself. What I have told everyone is that the monetary policy will not be brought a day earlier and everyone will not be forced into it. I will discuss the policy with the concerned parties first. Based on that, monetary policy is decided. So everyone has to think well. We have to exercise the rights we have given now and act according to the Act. All the employees of Nepal Rastra Bank are unanimous to work using the rights given to them. ”
