As per the government’s plan, a stadium is being constructed in Jhapa, the prime minister’s home district, next year. A modern stadium of international standard is being constructed in Damak to host all types of sports competitions. Similarly, the government is preparing to build high altitude sports stadiums in Solukhumbu, Mustang and Jumla for the diversification of sports disciplines and promotion of sports tourism.
The government has allocated Rs 420 million for the construction of Mulpani Cricket Stadium in Kathmandu, Girija Prasad Koirala Stadium in Morang, Fapla Cricket Stadium in Kailali and Siddhartha Cricket Stadium in Rupandehi.
Rs 400 million has been allocated for the upgradation of Kirtipur-based cricket stadium. Chitwan: The federal government has made provision of conditional grant for the purchase of the property created by Gautam Buddha Cricket Stadium in Chitwan on the basis of the evaluation done by tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering Studies.

In the fiscal year 2080/81 BS, the government had allocated only Rs 2.87 billion for youth and sports. The expenditure is only Rs 173.39 billion. According to the Ministry of Finance, the Sports Ministry, which has a total budget of Rs 3.34 billion in the current year, has spent only Rs 958.4 million till mid-April.
In the current budget, the government had set a target of organizing 80 national-level sports tournaments, promoting nepal’s original and traditional sports such as baghchal, dandibio, horse riding and organizing international competitions of e-sports related to modern technology, but the works could not be done as announced.
