Kathmandu. The Government of Nepal is going to organize the first National Water Conference-2025 on Chaitra 22. The Water and Energy Commission informed about this at a press conference in Kathmandu on Friday.
The conference will be held for two days on Chaitra 22 and 23. Speaking at the press conference, Kalanithi Paudyal, spokesperson for the Secretariat of the Water and Energy Commission, said that Nepal should ensure sustainable management and development of water resources. He stressed the need to expand local, national and international partnerships for the utilization of water resources while minimizing the impacts of climate change.
He said that without the cooperation of everyone, water resources and climate-related challenges cannot be faced. He said that the government is taking the initiative to implement sustainable water resource management and climate-friendly strategies.
It was informed at the press conference that a conference is being held to discuss the importance of water with relevant experts as the multiple uses of water will help in the country’s economic and social transformation. It is said that the program will discuss international cooperation on water resources and challenges in water resource utilization.
