Kathmandu. Study of Independent Power Producers Association IPPAN, Ganesh Karki, has said that private sector projects are not being completed on time.
Speaking at TAG_OPEN_span_7 a post-budget discussion organised by the Association of Economic Journalists of Nepal (NAFIJ) here on Saturday, he said the government should pay attention to the lack of capital as the IPO could not be issued.
“There is a doubt that the energy sector will not move forward. The rule that ipo can be issued only after production has caused problems in this. It is said that 61 billion rupees will be needed. At present, 365 projects have been licensed,” he said.
He said TAG_OPEN_span_5 that 5600 MW projects have been licensed and projects with a capacity of more than 17,000 MW are in the run-of-the-river.
“The rules of buying electricity only if you want may not consume the electricity generated. There is also some problem with the khanal commission’s suggestion, he said.
