Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that the government has saved Nepal from becoming a failed nation. He said this while addressing a capacity development program on the role of advertising agencies in advertising promotion in Kathmandu on Sunday.

He mentioned that one of the main reasons for the inability to make capital expenditure is the inability to maintain good governance. He said that although the government is trying to improve the problems of the economy, it is not achieving the desired success.

He said that the government has saved Nepal from becoming a Sri Lanka, saying that the first problem is the issue of good governance and public service effectiveness. He said that people are disappointed due to corruption, irregularities, and delays.

Minister Gurung said, “We have realized that one of the main reasons for not being able to spend capital is the failure to maintain good governance. That is our assessment. We are working to solve all these problems. We are trying so hard to improve the problems of the economy that are increasing these days. But we have still not been able to achieve the desired success as we wanted. Gradually, we have been saved from becoming Sri Lanka. The first thing the government has done is to save Nepal from becoming Sri Lanka. Or it has been saved from becoming a failed nation. Good governance is the biggest problem today. The issue of good governance and public service effectiveness is the first problem. The public is disappointed due to corruption, irregularities, and delays.

Minister Gurung said that the government is taking necessary steps to resolve the existing laws and regulations as they are unclear.
