Kathmandu. The government has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 500,000 as compensation to the family of Akub Ahmed, a resident of Duduwa Rural Municipality, Banke District. The decision of the Council of Ministers held on Ashad 13 was made public today by Minister of Communications and Information Technology and spokesperson of the Government of Nepal, Prithvi Subba Gurung.
According to Minister Gurung, a brief summary of the public procurement decision has been decided to appoint former Secretary Raghuram Bista as the chairman of the committee and former Joint Secretaries Rohit Kumar Bisural and Thaneshwor Gautam as members. Similarly, the principle approval has been given for the formulation of the Foreign Exchange (Regulation and Systematization) Bill and the principle approval has been given for the formulation of the Asset Management Bill.
Minister Gurung informed that the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock Development has been approved to participate in the ‘High Level Interregional Knowledge Exchange on One Country One Priority Project (OCOP) Models’ program to be conducted in Hanoi, Vietnam from Ashad 30 to Shrawan 1. According to him, the government has approved the signing of the Prime Ministerial Commitment: A National Transformation in, and through, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene on behalf of Nepal to transform the significant progress in the water supply and sanitation sector into a sustainable impact.
The government has decided to form a Debt Recovery Tribunal with Supreme Court Deputy Secretary Kriti Bahadur Basnet as the chairperson and Basanta Raj Puri of Dhankuta and Govinda Sharma Gaire of Tanahun as members to initiate and settle cases related to debt recovery of cooperative organizations. Minister Gurung informed that the temporary posts of three officer-level posts required for the fiscal year 2081.82 will be approved in the Debt Recovery Tribunal. In addition, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has been approved to promote an Assistant Lieutenant Colonel of the Nepal Army to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and to participate in the 47th session of the World Heritage Commission to be held in Paris, France.
The government has decided to appoint Ram Sharan Pudasaini to the vacant post of Executive Director of the Nepal Administrative Training Academy, to celebrate Asoj 15 every year as National Film Day, and to approve the Memorandum of Understanding on ‘Cooperation in the Field of Health and Medicine’ to be signed between the governments of Nepal and India, Minister Gurung said. According to Minister Gurung, the government has decided to approve the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Ayurveda and Traditional Medical Systems to be signed between Nepal and India, approve the National Tourism Policy, 2082, and approve the foreign visits of the secretaries of the Ministry of Drinking Water, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, and Ministry of Health and Population.
