Goods worth Rs 390 billion imported through Birgunj border

Birgunj. Goods and goods worth Rs 390.18 billion have been imported through the Birgunj border crossing in the eight months of the current fiscal year.

Deepak Lamichhane, Chief Customs Administrator of the Birgunj Customs Office, informed that there has been a significant increase in the import of petroleum products, soybean crude oil and vehicles in the current fiscal year. According to him, five different types of petroleum products worth Rs 122.20 billion have been imported in the eight months of the current fiscal year. In the same period last fiscal year, petroleum products worth Rs 120.53 billion were imported.

In the eight months of the current fiscal year, soybean oil raw materials worth Rs 29.29 billion were imported through this border. In the same period last fiscal year, soybean raw materials worth Rs 5.78 billion were imported. In the eight months of the current fiscal year, iron and iron products worth Rs 22.51 billion were imported, while in the same period last fiscal year, they were imported worth Rs 21.94 billion.

In the eight months of the current fiscal year, machinery and spare parts worth Rs 21.67 billion were imported, while in the last fiscal year, the same goods worth Rs 18.65 billion were imported. Transport vehicles worth Rs 11.68 billion have been imported in the first eight months of the current fiscal year.
