Kathmandu. Global IME Bank Limited has set up a charging station to charge electric vehicles (EVs) on the occasion of World Environment Day. The bank has set up the charging station at its corporate office in Kamaladi.
Krishna Prasad Sharma, Director of the Bank, Suman Pokharel, Deputy CHIEF Executive Officer of the Bank and Presha Shrestha, CHIEF Executive Officer of Vehicle Charge Pvt. Ltd. jointly inaugurated the charging station.
Established by the bank in collaboration with Vehicle Charge Pvt Ltd, the CSIT Single Gun has a capacity of 40 kW. The charging station provides for customers and employees of the bank to charge their EV vehicles.
With the increase in the use of electric vehicles in the recent past, the bank has introduced charging stations targeting the vehicles of customers coming to the bank. Speaking on the occasion, Bank’s Director Sharma said that the bank has set up this charging station as an initiative to promote eco-friendly EV vehicles keeping in view the convenience of its customers.
He also said that the bank is adopting environment-friendly measures with the expansion of its business. On the occasion, Deputy CEO pokharel said that Global IME Bank is committed to protecting the environment and responsible bank.
Global IME Bank is planting 18,000 saplings on the occasion of its 18th anniversary and World Environment Day, he said, adding that the bank is working to protect the environment and mitigate the impact of climate change by bringing environment-friendly products.
He expressed the belief that other banks and financial institutions would also use the EV charging station operated by Global IME Bank. The event was attended TAG_OPEN_span_12 by high-ranking officials of the bank and representatives of Vehicle Charge Pvt. Ltd.
