Kathmandu. Kulman Ghising has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court demanding the government’s decision to remove him from the post of Executive Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
According to Supreme Court Information Officer Nirajan Pandey, Ghising’s writ petition, which was filed on Wednesday, was registered today. The dispute is expected to be heard next Friday.
The writ petition states, “The decision to appoint the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority and the order to expedite all work and proceedings are annulled, and based on the above decision, letter and proceedings, the petitioner should not be removed from service before the period of four years from the date of appointment and should not be prevented from performing regular work while in service, and should be allowed to continue to perform work and proceedings without any hindrance.”
Last Monday’s cabinet meeting had dismissed Ghising as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority and appointed Hitendra Dev Shakya.
