Rampur. Located between the villages of Bahapur and Beloji in Nisdi Rural Municipality-5 of Palpa, where water flows all year round, the Ghancho waterfall is a sight to behold. It is called Ghancho waterfall in the Magar language. But in the common tongue, it is known as Ghang Chhahar in the Magar language, or the high waterfall in Nepali.

Anyone who reaches here bathes in the waterfall and enjoys it. However, due to the lack of road transport infrastructure and publicity to reach here, it has been neglected.

Tejan Sunari of Bahapur says that the sound of the waterfall makes the mind happy when he goes to Pakhapakhera, whether it is a haystack or a shepherd. He said that the waterfall, whose water never dries up even in winter, is fascinating.

‘In summer, people bathe and enjoy the water of the waterfall falling from a high cliff. The water does not dry up here even in summer,’ said Sunari. ‘It needs to be promoted. The waterfall has become anonymous due to the lack of infrastructure development to reach here. It should become a means of attracting tourists.’

If this waterfall, which has tourism potential, is linked to the development of tourism infrastructure, it will become a tourist destination. The waterfall, which is more than 30 meters high, spreads up to 20 meters. The number of tourists is low due to the lack of easy access to the waterfall.

Road facilities have been provided to Bahapur and Belauji villages. The waterfall can be reached after a 10-minute walk from Bahapur village and a 15-minute walk from Belauji village.

Nisdi Rural Municipality has taken the initiative to develop the waterfall as a tourist area. A footpath has been built from Bahapur village to the waterfall under the Prime Minister’s Employment Program. Now a footpath (stairs) is being built to reach there.

Nishdi-5 Ward Chairman Durga Bahadur Somai said that a footpath has been prepared to expand the road to the waterfall. He informed that a budget of Rs 1 lakh has been allocated for the promotion of the waterfall and tourism development in the current fiscal year. The waterfall, which falls from a high place, makes the mind happy.
