After the association announced the protest, Minister Bhandari had called the corporation and the association’s officials for a discussion. He assured that the legitimate demands put forward by the association would be addressed. The association had announced the protest with various demands, including increasing the market price according to cost. The association has been demanding price adjustment, saying that it is still suffering losses as gas is being distributed at the price adjusted six years ago.

Some time ago, the ministry had formed a committee under the coordination of Rajan Poudel, Director General of the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection. The association’s agitation has been postponed for 15 days as it will take time to further study the report submitted by the committee, informed Manoj Kumar Thakur, spokesperson of the Oil Corporation.
