Kathmandu. Transport entrepreneurs are going to stop public transport services across the country from tomorrow. The Gandaki state government has announced the protest against the decision taken by the Council of Ministers to reduce the trade of public transport.
The Gandaki State government has started the shutdown saying that it is going to implement the Gandaki State Ride Sharing Rules 2082 by publishing the Gazette on 2082/02/01 after taking a decision from the Council of Ministers.
The entrepreneurs have accused the Gandaki state government of acting contrary to Article 57 (6) (3) or 5 of the Constitution of the country and Section 8 (2) and Section 12 (1) of Chapter 2 of the Motor Vehicles and Transport Management Act, 2049 BS.
Saroj Sitaula, a businessman, said that the entrepreneurs were forced to protest as their demands were not addressed despite repeated attention. “We have decided to shut down traffic across the country from tomorrow. The movement will continue until the demands are met. ”
The entrepreneurs have been agitating after the Gandaki State Ride Sharing Regulations 2082, which allows the use of old 10-year-old two-wheelers and 15-year-old private four-wheelers purchased for private purposes in the name of rider sharing as rental vehicles.
