Further road upgrades on the Rapti Highway are being carried out by closing the road for five hours daily.

Dang. Work has progressed on the section of the Rapti Highway from Tulsipur in Dang to Salyan Kapurkot that is yet to be upgraded. Currently, the road from Kapurkot to Ramri is being upgraded by closing it for five hours daily until April 14.

The upgrade work has been affected by the regular vehicles operating, and the work has been carried out by closing the road for five hours daily from 11 am to 4 pm since last Monday, said Amir Subedi, Information Officer of the Road Division Office, Dang.

According to him, the Paiakhoriya (Satawas (Kimuchaur) (Kapurkot) section is being used for small and essential vehicles. Large vehicles, however, are getting stuck in traffic jams. The road has been closed for five hours daily from April 8 to 14 at the request of construction entrepreneurs as the road is being expanded and constructed, the Road Division Office has stated. .

Work has begun by signing a contract with RD Ujwal Lokmani Joint Venture for Rs 132.3 million for the expansion of the four-kilometer road, said Subedi, Information Officer of the Road Division Office.
