Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said that the fundamental rights provided in the constitution have not been implemented in practice.
Addressing a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday to mark the 124th anniversary of Gorkhapatra publication and the 62nd anniversary of the institution, she said this.
She mentioned that the constitution has made many good provisions for fundamental rights. She said that although many issues including caste untouchability and gender equality have been arranged in the constitution, they have not been implemented in practice to this day. She also informed that it is necessary to find out the reasons behind the failure to implement it practically and take it to the public through the government media. She said that it is necessary to protect the achievements achieved so far.
She said that the time has come to conduct a deep study of the structural condition and management aspects of the Gorkhapatra Institute and arrange for physical infrastructure, human resource management and market. She said that the government media should not remain just a hymnal of the government. She said that the government media should be able to become a bridge between the government and the people.
