Gorkha. Barpak Sulikot Rural Municipality has arranged free education along with residential facilities for orphan children in its area of operation.
The Rural Municipality Chairman Bishnu Prasad Bhatta said that the Manaslu Hostel in Bahrakot, located in Rural Municipality-6, has been operated and free education has been arranged for orphan children along with food and accommodation.
‘We have arranged free food, accommodation and education for orphan children who have not been able to go to school within the municipality since the current academic session,’ he said. ‘Currently, 19 orphan children are studying in the hostel run by the Rural Municipality.’
There are nine girls and 10 boys in the hostel. Informing that they will be provided free education up to grade 12, the municipality chairman Bhatta said, ‘We are taking help from interested donors for some necessary materials such as clothes, books, pens and other items for the children.’
The rural municipality had allocated Rs. 1.2 million in the current fiscal year for free education and food and lodging for orphan children.
Two female office assistants, security personnel and an inspector have also been arranged for the dormitory.
