Four school buildings are being constructed simultaneously in Kanchanpur at a cost of Rs. 22.4 million.

Kanchanpur. Construction of four school buildings of four community schools in Shuklaphanta Municipality has begun. The construction has been started at a cost of Rs 2.4 million from the federal government.

According to Dipendra Joshi, Technical Assistant of the Education, Youth and Sports Branch of the Municipality, the construction work has been progressed at the National Secondary School in Pipladi, Ward No. 4, Dharmajanata Secondary School in Ward No. 7, Stationpur, Siddhabaijanath Secondary School in Ward No. 1, Bansah, and Krishna Secondary School in Ward No. 7, Simalphanta.

A budget of Rs 5.6 million per building has been arranged for the construction of four-room buildings. Technical Assistant Joshi said that the buildings to be constructed will be environment-friendly and disabled-friendly. “The work is being carried forward to complete the construction of the building within the current fiscal year,” he said. Mayor Rana Bahadur Mahara has started the work by laying the foundation stone of the building at the National Secondary School.

There are 53 schools in operation in Shuklaphanta Municipality, including 28 community schools and 25 institutional schools. More than 15,000 students are studying in the schools. The literacy rate of the municipality is 95.54.
