Kathmandu. Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged all political parties, civil society, and concerned bodies to continue working for the all-round development and prosperity of the country.
Expressing her best wishes on the occasion of the 75th National Democracy Day through social media, she said that on this day when the autocratic Rana regime ended and democracy was established, Nepal and the Nepali people should be continuously active and united for prosperity.
‘Standing on the foundation of National Democracy Day, which has proven to be a milestone for Nepalis, Nepalis achieved success in the movement to establish a federal democratic republic through multi-party democracy. I am confident that all political parties, civil society, stakeholders and all of us Nepalis will continue to struggle for the all-round development and prosperity of Nepal while highly appreciating the sacrifices of all martyrs. I pay my heartfelt tribute to all the known and unknown martyrs who lost their precious lives in the course of various movements for the establishment of democracy,’ former President Bhandari wrote in X.
