Pun, who is also the deputy general secretary of the CPN (Maoist Centre), said though they had mentioned five sectors of the economy in last year’s budget, the current budget did not focus on the sector.

“In last year’s budget, we had mentioned five sectors of the economy. It is not even what area is the focus right now. It was said that seven provinces would be developed in seven specialties, but nothing has been said about it. Last year, there was talk of gandaki economic triangle and other centers of economy, but this year there is no such thing. Last year, a special focus was given to startups, especially the ICT sector, but now that too is scattered. It has come in the form of a regular budget in a way that raises hope, rather than in a way to make the economy dynamic as a whole. ‘
He said the government was positive to keep the tax on electric vehicles unchanged.
