Kathmandu. Sharad Ojha, Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority, has discussed with former chairmen on the issues of problem solving and expectations of the insurance sector. Ojha discussed with former chairmen of the Authority on issues including past experiences in the context of advancing the overall insurance sector in a systematic manner, steps taken in the past to face challenges, work done to solve problems and expectations of the insurance sector.
In a meeting and discussion program organized at the central office of Nepal Insurance Authority, Kupandol, Lalitpur, former chairmen of the Authority, Madhav Prasad Upadhyay, Devendra Pratap Shah and Prof. Dr. Fattabahadur K.C. Participants were.
In the program, the former chairmen mentioned that the Insurance Act and Rules have strengthened the leadership of the Authority and suggested that it is their primary responsibility to elevate the reputation of the Authority and move forward fearlessly and honestly.
They suggested that we should move forward with a good understanding of the regulatory role of the Authority, not to bend to unwanted things, not to allow political interference, not to allow insurance companies to do unwanted things, to say ‘no’ to things that should not be done, and to work keeping in mind our conscience.
Similarly, we should not stop doing good work even if there is some immediate loss, to work confidently in the interest of the organization, to confirm the information received The former chairmen of the Authority have suggested moving forward only by doing, controlling unhealthy competition and distortions seen in the insurance sector, creating a suitable environment for the insurance business, strengthening the regulatory role of the Authority, and working according to the law and rules and not on anyone’s word.
On that occasion, Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority Sharad Ojha expressed his commitment to continue the good practices of the past and move forward with more good practices.
Chairman Ojha said that the program was organized to gain information about past experiences in streamlining the insurance sector, steps taken to face challenges and solve problems, the regulatory role of the Authority, and necessary interventions in the insurance market. .
Mentioning that the wise experiences of the past will be taken as a guide, Chairman Ojha expressed his confidence that the experience gained from the former chairmen will facilitate the necessary decisions to make the entire insurance sector well-organized, regular and competitive in line with the expectations of the government and the insurance sector.
