Foreign investment up to 25 percent allowed

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The government is going to open the way for Nepalis to invest abroad. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, while presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, said entrepreneurs and investors would be allowed to invest up to 25 percent of the total exports abroad.

According to him, the Nepal Investment Board will allow foreign investment. “Entrepreneurs/investors will be allowed to invest up to 25 percent of the total exports abroad,” he said. Nepal Investment Board (NIB) will allow foreign investment. ’

In the budget, the government has announced to reduce the rent of industrial sector by 50 percent. Arrangements will be made from extraction to export of mining products. In the budget, there is a program to provide concessional loans to startups. A budget of Rs 730 million has been allocated for this purpose.

The savings of the savers up to Rs 500,000 will be protected through loan and deposit protection. Finance Minister Poudel said that Nijgadh will be built by mobilizing land banks and alternative finance funds in 100 local levels next year.
