Kathmandu. A delegation of The National Federation of Small Urban Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumers called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today. A delegation led by FNCCI President Khem Raj Oli called on Prime Minister Oli and urged him to address their problems.
“We met the Prime Minister and submitted a memorandum, discussed the problems being faced in the drinking water sector during the meeting, and informed the Prime Minister through a memorandum on the issue of exemption in taxes to be paid by drinking water consumers, exemption in electricity tariff, reduction in debt burden to be paid to the City Development Fund and autonomy of the Drinking Water Consumers Committee,” reads the statement.
In this context, PRIME Minister Oli pledged to address the drinking water sector by selecting a long-term one that could be done immediately. The Prime Minister said that the issue of tax exemption would be clarified after discussion with the Finance Minister.
The FNJ delegation also met NC Vice-President Purna Bahadur Khadka and Dhanraj Gurung. Khadka and Gurung, powerful leaders of the ruling nepali Congress, said they would support the government from the parliament on the problems being faced in the drinking water sector.
Similarly, in a meeting with CPN(UML) General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, he demanded a solution to the problems of the drinking water sector.
