Five-point declaration issued for Kaligandaki River conservation

Tanahun. The Gandaki Bimarsha Sabha, organized by the Mahesh Sanyas Ashram Ramananda Research Center in Devghat Rural Municipality-5, Tanahun, has issued a five-point ‘Gandaki Declaration’ for the protection of the Gandaki civilization.

The said five-point declaration includes launching a campaign to establish the holy Kaligandaki River as the cultural heritage of Hindu Sanatani around the world and the national river of Nepal, preserving the natural nature and continuous clean flow of Kaligandaki, opposing human encroachment and exploitation that hinders the uninterrupted availability of water to the lower banks of Gandaki, conducting public awareness work to eliminate human pollution (garbage, scum, excreta and urine disposal) in the Gandaki basin, and promoting religious tourism by publicizing the rare importance and beauty of Krishnagandaki. It is mentioned that a Krishnagandaki trek will be organized under the leadership of the organization.

The discussion meeting was held at the ashram with the aim of promoting the glorious Gandaki civilization by preserving the natural form and continuous clean flow of the holy Krishnagandaki, the original source of Vedic consciousness, originating from the sacred mountain ranges of Himawatkhand, the center of faith of the traditional Hindu community of the world, Mahesh Sanskrit Gurukul Principal Phanindra Poudel informed.

During the program, conservationist Dr. Kulraj Chalise, who is doing a PhD on the Kaligandaki River, spoke about the impact and consequences of Kaligandaki diversion, conservationist Rachana Bhattarai spoke about the importance of Kaligandaki and Shaligram, conservationist Adipta Giri spoke about human encroachment on Kaligandaki and On the subject of its impact, Dr. Ramchandra Baral, a professor at Prithvi Narayan Campus Pokhara, presented a working paper on the spiritual contemplation taking place in the coastal areas of Kaligandaki.

The Ramananda Research Center was established for the study and research of Eastern culture, religion, philosophy, civilization and epistemology and has been conducting discussions related to Eastern literature and civilization in the past.
