Fire in Sunsari causes damage worth Rs. 6 million

Sunsari. A fire in Koshi Rural Municipality-6 of Sunsari on Thursday caused damage worth Rs 6 million. Ten houses belonging to five families were destroyed in the fire caused by a fire (ghura) lit to chase away flies and mosquitoes from cattle. Local Birendra Kumar Yadav said that the damage was worth Rs 6 million.

He informed that the houses of locals Babunanda Goit, Ramananda Ram Yadav, Manoj Yadav, Khushi Lal Goit and Vijay Goit were destroyed in the fire, causing damage worth Rs 6 million. Local Babunanda Goit’s cash worth Rs 100,000 was destroyed in the fire.

Similarly, all the furniture, gold and silver belonging to the house were destroyed in the fire, informed Dinesh Adhikari, Assistant Spokesperson and Police Inspector of the District Police Office. The fire broke out in the house of a local resident. The fire was extinguished with the help of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, locals, and the fire brigade of Koshi Rural Municipality, according to the District Police Office.
