Taplejung. Four passengers and two injured who died after a Bolero vehicle caught fire while going to visit Pathibhara Temple from Taplejung district headquarters Phungling have been identified.
According to the District Police Office, a Bolero vehicle bearing number Me1Cha 3011 suddenly caught fire at Sewarochowk, Phungling Municipality-10.
According to District Police Office Information Officer Bivek Basnet, the deceased are 16-year-old Aadhya Acharya of Lalitpur Metropolitan City-10, 70-year-old Binod Poudel of Bhadrapur Municipality-15, Poudel’s wife, 69-year-old Sarita Poudel, and the driver, 42-year-old Durga Bhattarai of Taplejung Phungling Municipality-10. .
The injured are 45-year-old Sabina Acharya of Lalitpur-10 and her 10-year-old son Bhavimay Acharya. They are undergoing treatment at the district hospital. Police said that initial investigation revealed that a wire from an electric pole fell onto the road at around 5:00 this morning and a Bolero vehicle got caught in the wire, causing a sudden fire.
According to Information Officer Basnet, a 15-member team under the command of Police Inspector Ravi Rawal immediately reached the spot as soon as information about the fire was received.
