Dang. A fire broke out at the Shangrila Ply Industry in Khaira, Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City-9, causing damage worth crores of rupees. The fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in the industry.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Chakra Bahadur Shah, more than 30 houses near the industry are at risk due to the fire in the industry, which is spread over an area of eight bighas. He said that the work of removing the belongings from those houses is underway and the citizens living there have been taken to a safe place.
The fire has destroyed wood, raw materials, ply-making machines and other materials used to make ply. The fire that broke out in the industry since 2 am last night has not yet been extinguished. Firefighting efforts are currently underway with the help of fire engines brought from Ghorahi, Tulsipur, Lamahi, Garhwa and Kapilvastu. A large number of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army and locals have been deployed to douse the fire.
