Sarlahi. A fire has broken out at a plastic industry in Ishworpur, Sarlahi. The fire that broke out this morning destroyed the Himalayan Poly Nepal plastic bag industry located in Brahmasthan, Ishworpur Municipality-7.
The house of Netra Bahadur Karki, where the industry is located, was completely destroyed in the fire that broke out suddenly at night due to an electrical short circuit, while the house of his neighbor Nawal Kishore Sah was partially damaged, said Superintendent of Police Deepak Shrestha, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Sarlahi.
Ram Chhabila Sah, a resident of Pokhariya Tole, Chandranagar Rural Municipality-4, had rented Karki’s house and operated the industry. The fire destroyed all the equipment, preparations, raw materials and other goods in the industry, and the damage was more than 75 million rupees, claimed the industry operator Sah.
The fire was brought under control after 2.5 hours with the help of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, locals, fire engines from Hariban and Malangwa municipalities. Shrestha informed that further investigation into the incident is underway. Although the fire department estimates that the damage is estimated at more than 40 million rupees, he said that the exact details of the damage are yet to be known as the work of collecting the damage and incident reports is underway.
