Kathmandu. Kirtipur Hospital has reported that Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has suffered burns on 5 to 6 percent of his body. The hospital has said that Minister Poudel’s lungs and respiratory tract may also be affected.
Issuing a statement, the hospital said, ‘Today, Saturday, 2081 Falgun 03, Honorable Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Shri Bishnu Poudel and Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City Shri Dhanraj Acharya have been admitted to the intensive care unit at this Kirtipur Hospital at 3:30 pm due to burn injuries from Pokhara. According to their initial assessment, he has 5-6% burns, but the burns on his face are likely to affect his respiratory and lung functions, so he needs to be treated under high surveillance.’
Minister Poudel was injured after being hit by flames due to a technical problem at an event in Pokhara. Minister Poudel, who was hit by flames, was initially treated at Gandaki Hospital in Pokhara. He was brought to Kirtipur by a Simrik Airlines helicopter for further treatment.
Burn wounds are considered one of the most difficult to treat. Minister Poudel was admitted to the hospital after suffering burns on his hands and face. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel’s press advisor Bhuwan KC informed that the health of Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has been affected due to an incident that occurred due to a technical problem during the inauguration of the Pokhara Visit Year announcement ceremony.
According to him, due to a technical problem, he suffered some injuries to his hand due to an electrical short circuit while flying a balloon. Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dhanraj Gurung and Finance Minister Poudel were hit in the face and hand by flames when a balloon caught fire while flying.
