Kathmandu. The Ministry of Finance has started the homework for the implementation of the next year’s budget. In the meeting held at the Ministry of Finance, the homework has started to implement the action plan by reconciling the policy and program, budget and milestones.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has directed the government to expedite the procurement related works for the programmes and projects included in the budget statement. He said that it would be easier to work quickly if the agreement could be signed immediately after the approval of the budget.
Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal said that additional acts and laws were not necessary to carry forward the procurement process.
The meeting also discussed to pay special attention to the increase in capital expenditure for the current fiscal year. In the meeting, Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay said that the Ministry of Finance would immediately facilitate the transfer of funds in connection with the schemes and programs that have ensured resources and have the necessary documents.
He urged the secretaries of the concerned ministries to send only the works that have been processed and can be done to the Ministry of Finance, saying that they will work on holidays and Saturdays if necessary to facilitate the projects and programs where the resources have been agreed and documents have been completed.
Secretaries of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and Ministry of Drinking Water were present in the meeting.
