Kathmandu. Representatives of various Japanese business companies who came to Nepal for the Nepal-Japan Friendship Summit 2025 have paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel.
On the occasion of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Poudel said that there is great potential to attract Japanese investment in Nepal’s development priority areas.
He expressed confidence that the Nepal-Japan Friendship Summit will convey the message that there is a favorable environment for investors in Nepal and will motivate Japanese investors to invest more in Nepal.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Poudel urged foreign investors to invest enthusiastically in these areas as hydropower, tourism and manufacturing sectors are also attractive areas for investment. .
He informed that the government has addressed the concerns of the private sector and amended various laws through ordinances to create a more conducive environment for investment.
The team included representatives from more than a dozen companies including Fujita, Benesse Corporation, Digital Pilot, Tokio Marine, Fourth Valley. The summit has started in Kathmandu from today.
