Kathmandu. The shooting of the Nepali film ‘Pahad’, which was stopped due to director Tulsi Ghimire’s health problems, has resumed.
Director Ghimire had contracted ‘pneumonia’ after shooting for a day on Magh 22. Director Ghimire informed that the shooting of the film has started in Gorkha and surrounding areas as per the predetermined schedule after his health improved.
He said, ‘I have returned to film work after a few years. Working with the new generation of artists is giving me a new energy. The film tells the story of a high mountain where human settlements have become empty.’
He said that the film depicts the social and economic problems that arise when young people migrate abroad and the mountains that are empty. The film, produced by Ojaswi KC, has been shot by Pramod Pradhan.
Cinematographer Pradhan, who has worked in Indian films and TV series, has collaborated with director Ghimire on ‘Injustice’, ‘Koseli’, ‘Chino’ and ‘Dakshina’.
The shooting will take place for 25 days in Gorkha and its surroundings and 15 days in India, informed Director Ghimire. The film, which is being produced under the banner of Bhagya Ratna Films Pvt. Ltd., will feature actors like Bipin Karki, Sunil Thapa, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Renunath Yogi, Arun Chhetri, Rabindra Singh Baniya, Salona Bajracharya and others.
Director Ghimire’s younger daughter Panchami Ghimire is making her acting debut in the film through this film. Her elder daughter Bhavana Ghimire is working as a production designer. Director Ghimire said that he is happy when his two daughters make film their profession.
He said, “We are also happy when our children choose the work or profession they are doing. One daughter has become an actress, while the other is interested in technical fields including directing.” That’s why I’m excited about this film.’
The production team is preparing to release the film in June next year.
