Bhojpur. The farmers here are worried as the problem of armyworms has increased in the maize crop. Farmers are worried as the army worm has started damaging the maize crop.

Dhan Bahadur Thapa, a local farmer, said that the maize crop has been damaged due to the increase in the problem of American armyworm since the last week of April. According to him, there is a problem of entering the corn straw, eating the leaves and dying due to yellowing due to insects. “This year too, there has been a problem of military pests in maize,” he said. The increase in pest infestation in maize has added to the concern. Especially in the low-lying areas, the problem of pests is more. ’

According to the farmers, the problem of armyworm has been seen in the lower areas of Bhojpur Municipality including Taksar, Bokhim, Dauwa, Pauwadungma Rural Municipality, Temkemaiung Rural Municipality and Arun Rural Municipality. According to the farmers, the production of maize, which is the main food, is going to decrease after the insects start eating gubo.

According to agriculture knowledge center Bhojpur, the problem of army worm has been seen in the maize crops planted by the farmers in the valley and low-lying areas. According to the Center, necessary technical support is being provided to the farmers for pest control.
