Exports through Birgunj border nearly double

Birgunj. Goods and goods worth Rs 40 billion 345.979 billion have been exported through the Birgunj customs checkpoint during the seven months of the current fiscal year.

Exports from the checkpoint have almost doubled during the same period of the current fiscal year compared to the seven months of the previous fiscal year. Goods and goods worth Rs 17 billion 79.560 billion were exported to foreign countries through this checkpoint during the seven months of the previous fiscal year.

Among the 28 small and large customs checkpoints across the country, the share of exports through the Birgunj customs checkpoint is 31.72 percent. Information Officer of the Birgunj Customs Office, Amit Tiwari, said that with the increase in the export of processed sunflower and soybean oil in the current fiscal year, the overall export has increased. “Exports have been increasing in an encouraging manner in the current fiscal year compared to the previous fiscal year,” he said.

Processed soybean oil worth Rs 19.36 billion has been exported through the Birgunj customs checkpoint during the seven months of the current fiscal year. Similarly, processed sunflower oil worth Rs 4.63 billion has been exported during the same period.

Fruit juice worth Rs 3.96 billion has been exported to foreign countries. Similarly, iron and iron products worth Rs 3.12 billion have been exported, according to the Birgunj Customs Office.

Synthetic yarn worth Rs 1.6 billion and various types of fabrics worth Rs 1.47 billion have been exported to foreign countries. During the same period, raw materials for animal feed, such as rice bran and chaff, worth Rs 1.22 billion have been exported. RSS
