Kathmandu. The government is going to ensure easy access of citizens to public information. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives. Presenting the budget for 83, he said, “Transparency and accountability will be enhanced by promoting press freedom and protecting the right to personal liberty and privacy of citizens.” ’
Kathmandu: The government has decided to lay emphasis on the discovery, research and development and promotion of innovative technologies developed in the field of communications and information technology. Finance Minister Poudel said that the second edition of Digital Nepal Framework will be carried out on the lines, special programs of digital literacy will be conducted, and rs 740 million has been allocated for building digital technology and developing the ecosystem. ’
The government is going to partner with the private sector for the construction and operation of data centers and infrastructure development. The government plans to build an information technology park in Kathmandu.
Finance Minister Poudel said a feasibility study would be conducted to establish data centres in the mid-hill region to attract foreign investment in the information technology sector. According to the budget, land, electricity and security will be provided to domestic and foreign companies for the establishment of data centers. The government has also upgraded the Integrated Data Management Centre.
