Kathmandu. Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that the printing of all security materials except bank notes has begun in Nepal. He said this while addressing a special program organized on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Gorkhapatra Daily on Wednesday.
He said that a press that can produce all printing materials except notes has been arranged and that preparations are being made to operate the press by managing manpower and finances. He said that there is no need to go abroad to print any security materials, including support.
He said, “A printing press that can produce and print everything except bank notes has been arranged. We are doing that work by managing manpower and finances. From now on, there is no need to go abroad to print such things.” The ministry has already started that work.’
Minister Gurung said that the process of replacing the old Act of the Film Development Board and making a new one has begun, claiming that the new Act of the board has been registered and will be passed and put into operation soon. He said that the construction of a building owned by the Film Development Board is also underway. He said that the film sector will be developed as an industry and made an important area of revenue generation.
He said, ‘We are improving the ministry in many ways within this year. We have registered the old Act of the Film Development Board, and it will be passed. The work of constructing the building will start from this year. We will have our own studio building. With that, we have started eliminating many other irregularities in the film development sector. And we have reached a place where we can earn a lot of revenue and our ministry has made progress in developing industries. He was in a coma, almost dead. He was put on a ventilator, but we have taken him out of there and now we have made him a place to work.’
Minister for Communications Gurung emphasized that since it is the responsibility of the state to ensure the rights and interests of the people, Gorkhapatra should play an important role in protecting the values of a federal democratic republic.
