‘Everyone’s cooperation and coordination is necessary in drug control’

Sunsari. Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki has said that everyone’s cooperation and coordination is necessary in controlling drug abuse. At a program organized by the District Police Office and the Fan District Work Committee in Inaruwa, Sunsari headquarters today, he pointed out the need to move forward with cooperation and coordination as everyone’s role in controlling drugs is important.

Since everyone has a role and responsibility in controlling drug abuse, which is an obstacle to the country’s development, prosperity and good governance, he emphasized that individuals, families and society should play a coordinating role from their respective places. Koshi Province Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Rewatiraman Bhandari said that programs against drug abuse are being run as a campaign in various districts of the province. Stating that the provincial government is gradually declaring villages and wards of cities drug-free, he opined that everyone should cooperate as it will lead to serious problems if drug abuse is not controlled in time.

Koshi Provincial Police Office Chief and Deputy Inspector General of Police Ishwor Karki said that everyone should make efforts to reduce drug use and addiction, which are the enemies of society. He stressed that children and youths consume drugs due to peer pressure, peer pressure, lack of parental supervision, failure, and other reasons, and everyone’s attention should be drawn to this.

The program was attended by District Coordination Committee Chief Rajan Mehta, Koshi Provincial Assembly MP Israel Mansuri, Ram Prasad Mehta, Inaruwa Municipality Chief Kedar Bhandari, Harinagar Rural Municipality Chairman Gafar Ansari, Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality Chairman Ajmal Akhtar Azad, Sunsari Chief District Officer Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, Armed Police Superintendent Nirmal Thapa, and others.

The Chief Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office, Suman Kumar, spoke on the damage caused by drugs to society, legal provisions, reasons for the increase in drug users, preventive measures, challenges, and other issues. Timsin informed. He emphasized that since crimes are committed due to drug use, it is necessary to take the campaign to every household by being vigilant. The participants said that various programs are necessary for drug control. The morning procession, which started from the District Police Office, went around Inaruwa Municipality and ended at Omsairam Party Palace.
