Surkhet. Chief Minister of Karnali State Yamlal Kandel has stressed the need for cooperation from all concerned including the government and private sector in infrastructure development and improving the living standard of the people. He said that the construction work is not done only by the government offices and builders.
He said positive thinking, monitoring and trust of the locals and stakeholders would also help in the development works. Inaugurating the upgradation work of the seven-kilometer road under mulpani-Ranighat section at Palate of Birendranagar-2, the starting point of mulpani-Ranighat-Telpani-Bhurigaun section connecting Karnali with Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces this morning, he said that only government agencies and builders would not be responsible for infrastructure development works. He opined that achievement-oriented works could be carried out with the cooperation and coordination of all.
The infrastructure development directorate had awarded the contract. The Chief Minister said that if this road is completed, the compulsion to go to Kohalpur of Banke to go to Bardiya and Sudurpaschim states will end. “Development should be done as soon as possible and everyone should be interested in it. Out of the rs 320 million, the contractors have started the work by taking the contract for Rs 180 million,” he said.
Chief Minister Kandel said that the five districts of Karnali have been walking since time immemorial. He pledged the state government’s support to promote Ranighat like Devghat of Chitwan along with the construction of the road. After the completion of this route, those coming to Surkhet from Bardiya will have to travel less in terms of distance. Stating that this road is the main gateway for the tourism sector of Karnali, Chief Minister Kandel urged the contractors to carry out quality and effective works. He said that the state government would facilitate if there is any problem in the course of work.
Chief Minister Kandel stressed the need of creating an environment in which the contractors could work in July and July. “Technical friends should pay special attention to quality work. It has importance as development helps in the prosperity of all sectors including economic, social and tourism of the people. The contractors are requested not to carry out the work of desertion from tomorrow after laying the foundation stone today. Let us all coordinate and cooperate to build quality roads. ’
