Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has said that the government was working to create an environment for mining and river products to be sold not only at home but also abroad. Stating that the government was moving ahead to export mining products, he said the situation where the project could not be implemented due to lack of construction materials would be removed.

According to him, the program kept in the budget will be effectively implemented not only for the excavation and use of mining and river-based construction materials but also for export. Addressing a programme organised by the Society of Infrastructure Journalists in the capital today, he said the government was moving in that direction.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Poudel said that the problems that were there in the infrastructure construction sector in the budget have been addressed to the extent. He said that he is hopeful that the results will be positive as some important reforms have been made in the budget.

Finance Minister Poudel said, “We will not allow shortage of river products in the construction sector. We will excavate and process the mining and river-based construction materials that are suitable and economically feasible through the environmental impact study and make internal use. Not only in Nepal, we will make arrangements for export. Construction should not be affected due to shortage of mining and river products. Now we will not back down from the program in the budget. A case has already been filed in the Supreme Court against the court’s decision on the program presented by Finance Minister Poudel in the budget. Advocate Dinesh Tripathi has filed a contempt of court case demanding action against the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister. ’

According to Finance Minister Poudel, questions have always been raised about the credibility of the budget. Now no one has been able to question the credibility of the budget because it has been brought in a realistic budget rather than increasing the size of the budget.

Stating that the current expenditure could be kept in the desired limit, he said it was difficult to keep the general expenditure in the limit while increasing it in the past. Poudel said that efforts have been made to increase the capital expenditure and the budget has been allocated so that resources are not misused.

Stating that no one would dare to put projects below Rs 30 million in the budget now, Poudel claimed that the current budget is an important departure in terms of discipline. According to Finance Minister Poudel, small projects have been cut. Let’s go. V. However, the responsibilities created to be completed have not been cut. Projects don’t last long.

The government is trying to utilize the resources properly. The government is moving ahead to carry forward the construction of sustainable infrastructure. The issue of public procurement act regulations has been discussed for a long time.

Some time ago, the 14th Amendment Rules have addressed the demands to some extent. Finance Minister Poudel said that the problems in the construction sector would be resolved by amending the Public Procurement Act again.

According to Finance Minister Poudel, attention has also been paid to the management of sick projects. Limited resources have to be allocated for big projects. In that sense, it is not possible to complete development infrastructure only through treasury in the budget.

At present, it is not easy to build infrastructure by meeting the general expenditure of revenue. Revenue should have the capacity to meet capital expenditure. An alternative finance fund is being provided. The bill has reached the parliament and the law will allow capital not only from the treasury but also from home and abroad. Infrastructure will be built by attracting investors to the projects.
