Kathmandu. Engineer Sagar Shrestha has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Transmission Grid Company Limited (RPGCL), formed under the unbundling policy of the Nepal Electricity Authority.
He has been appointed for a term of 4 years. He has been selected from seven candidates through a final presentation and interview and entrusted with the leadership of the company.
Engineer Shrestha is an experienced and well-known person in the energy sector. He has obtained a postgraduate degree from the prestigious IIT Roorkee University in India. In addition, he is a well-known and respected name among young engineers in Nepal.
Currently, the grid company has a portfolio of 11 projects worth about 110 billion rupees. The company has been playing a significant role in making Nepal’s electricity transmission system systematic, reliable and effective. Under the leadership of Engineer Shrestha, the company is expected to successfully advance the projects being developed.
He is serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Nepal Engineering Council and has been elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Nepal Engineers’ Association.
The trend of establishing youth leadership in various sectors of Nepal is increasing. Under the leadership of Engineer Shrestha, the Grid Company aims to modernize Nepal’s electricity transmission system. Shrestha is a resident of Dapcha, Namobuddha Municipality-7, Kavrepalanchok District.
