‘Emphasis should be placed on entrepreneurship for a self-reliant economy’: Chairman Dhakal

Kathmandu. President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Chandra Prasad Dhakal has said that entrepreneurship should be developed for a self-reliant economy. President Dhakal expressed this view while releasing the autobiography of Kamala Shrestha, a central member of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and a beautician, in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

He also said that an environment where women’s labor is unconditionally respected is necessary to build a society with equality and social justice. He said that entrepreneurship increases self-esteem and self-reliance in people and also contributes to the development of the country, saying that businessman Shrestha has done exemplary work for the development of entrepreneurship.

In the program, former President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Bhawani Rana, said that Shrestha has made a great contribution to women’s entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment. Federation Vice Presidents Hemraj Dhakal, Jyosna Shrestha and former Federation Vice President Bhaskar Raj Rajkarnikar said that her book is a source of inspiration for those who do something new.

Rita Tiwari, Principal of Padmakanya Vidyashram, informed that the subject of beauty arts is being taught in the school in collaboration with her. Speaking at the book release program, the author of the book, Kamala Shrestha, said that she hopes that this book will also guide those who want to start a business and become self-employed.

She said that this is more of a story of entrepreneurship than her autobiography. Kamal Dhakal, director of Lekhan Kunj, informed that the autobiography of beautician Shrestha, who is also a central member of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the president of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Committee, includes six sections and 65 articles under various titles.
