Tulsipur. Work has begun to provide electricity to the citizens of remote areas of Dang.
Shantinagar, Babai and Dangisharan rural municipalities and some parts of Tulsipur sub-metropolitan city in western Dang are still without electricity, said Shiva Narayan Goshalil, chief of Nepal Electricity Distribution Center Tulsipur.
According to him, the process has been initiated to provide electricity to more than 4,200 households in these areas as electricity is still not available.
‘There is a plan to provide electricity to the houses in remote settlements here as long as I am the chief,’ ‘Electricity has not yet reached the remote settlements of the district,’ he said, ‘and the process has already begun for that.’
He also said that a budget of about 250 million has been secured to provide electricity to those settlements. He said that if that budget is implemented, electricity will reach all places.
The electricity expansion is being carried out with the investment of China’s AIIB Bank. ‘Even in a developed district like Dang, it is surprising to say that there are still places that do not have electricity,’ said Chief Goshali. ‘Now, it will be said that electricity has reached all places.’
Some settlements in Ward No. 1 of Dangisharan Rural Municipality, Wards No. 1, 2 and 3 of Shantinagar Rural Municipality, Wards No. 1, 5 and 7 of Babai Rural Municipality, and Wards No. 1, 3, 4, 8 and 12 of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City still do not have electricity.
Some time ago, electricity was provided to remote places like Tulsipur-4 Khumkhani, Shantinagar Rural Municipality-1 Bastikhola, and Harichar in Dang.
