Agency. Egypt’s annual core inflation fell to 12.5 percent in February from 23.2 percent in January.
A report released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics on Monday attributed the significant decline mainly to an 8.2 percent drop in vegetable prices and a 0.2 percent drop in tea, coffee and cocoa prices.
Which also included price declines in other categories. The prices of water, electricity and gas remained stable during the month. The price of grain and bread increased by 0.8 percent, while the price of meat and poultry increased by 3.2 percent.
Egypt aims to reduce its inflation rate to below 10 percent by the end of 2025, according to a previous statement by the Egyptian Prime Minister.
