Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said education should be equipped with modern technology and useful in life. He said this while addressing the 99th meeting of the Kathmandu University Assembly held at Baluwatar on Thursday.

Stating that there was a need to make radical changes in education, he said that the unbalanced budget allocation in education should be reconsidered. He also said that it was necessary to reconsider the allocation of more budget for medical health and the reduction in budget for engineering and other subjects. It is necessary to make education accessible to the general public, he said.

Pm Oli said, “We have to make radical changes in the context of education. There are a few things that don’t fit in. We have given 75 percent scholarship in medical education. And we will bear the cost of 45 to 50 lakhs, now we are opening more gates. We are again increasing the quota of 75 percent of the students and Karnali Academy of Health Sciences. We are opening other institutes of health sciences. We are opening more universities. After that, we have been giving health education, especially in UG. There is talk of being too unbalanced and on the one hand, the budget is being poured hard and on the other hand, there is talk of not paying much attention to what is happening in education, it has to be reconsidered. ’

Prime Minister Oli argued that the society could not be run by investing only in one subject.
