Kathmandu. Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has said that the grants coming from the international level are shrinking. Addressing a program organized on the occasion of the 59th annual general meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Industry Day, she said this.
She said that the grants coming from the international level are shrinking and there is a possibility of further reduction due to geopolitical reasons. She said that the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry has helped to move the country’s economy forward.
She said that all Nepalis aspire for economic development and progress, and said that these aspirations can be achieved only through the activism and participation of the private sector. She said that Nepal needs to achieve sustainable development goals to achieve maximum development and rise to a developed nation, and for that, cooperation with the private sector is necessary.
She said, “All Nepalis aspire for economic development and progress. Those aspirations can only be achieved through the activism and participation of the private sector. Nepal needs to achieve sustainable development goals to achieve maximum development and rise to a developed nation. We have to fulfill our aspirations for rapid economic growth and development. Now foreign loan grants will come less than before. According to her, the status of foreign aid is becoming less. In 2046 BS, when the budget was 20 billion, 50 percent was foreign debt. In 2081 BS, the share of grants was 14.4 percent in the budget of 1.8 trillion. This means that Nepal has increased its revenue collection.’
She also said that it is necessary to increase capital expenditure and that the government is committed to it, adding that the problems seen in government resource mobilization are not new. She announced that the problems seen in the past due to lack of political stability will now be eliminated.
