Nawalparasi. Nawalparasi: The East-West Highway in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) has been obstructed due to diversion at Dumkiwas of Nawalpur. Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Madhu Nepal, said that the highway has been obstructed due to the diversion in the flood this morning.
He said that nothing can be done immediately for the movement as the flood has not stopped. Small and passenger vehicles have been operated from the winter route via Hongshi Gate after the diversion site was washed away by the flood.
Meanwhile, Information Officer of Butwal-Narayangadh Road Expansion Project, Shiva Khanal, said that the new bridge has collapsed. The bridge is planned to be operational from the second week of June.
