According to the US Embassy in Nepal, mcc nepal compact has been approved to continue its implementation even during the review period.
Mcc and the U.S. Embassy in Nepal are working closely and in dialogue with stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes of this review, the embassy said in a statement.
Mcc said it is working closely with the Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal and MCA-Nepal to ensure that activities undertaken or undertaken under the Compact (including potential new commitments) are in line with the priorities of the U.S. and Nepal governments, ensuring transparency, good governance, effective implementation, and risk management.
“The United States remains committed to our bilateral relations with Nepal and efforts to promote the prosperity and long-term economic growth of the Nepali people,” the embassy said.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump had ordered to stop mcc saying that Nepal is the most corrupt country in the world.
