Jumla. Prime Minister’s Agricultural Modernization Project, Implementation Unit Jumla has distributed agricultural tools to farmers here. Agricultural tools worth 1.262 million have been distributed at a 50 percent subsidy.
Project Chief Khemraj Shahi informed that last year, 62 mini-tillers (hand tractors) were distributed to farmers at a 50 percent subsidy under the project.
Mini-tillers have been distributed to increase production by mechanizing agriculture. Chief Shahi said that mini-tillers have been distributed at a subsidy with the aim of speeding up and reducing costs. Mini-tillers (hand tractors) have been distributed to agricultural entrepreneurs, agricultural groups and cooperatives of all eight local levels of the district at 50 percent cost sharing.
Each mini-tiller (hand tractor) has been distributed at 50 percent cost sharing. The problem of farmers receiving mini-tillers under subsidy and not using them has been identified, said Padam Karki, Information Officer of the Project Implementation Unit, Jumla.
